  • Box rear - refers to the back part of a box. Sometimes known as the box bottom or rear.

  • Surface - the front or rear areas of a box where the game graphics and other printed information are located.

  • Edge - the sides of the box top or box rear. When the edges are said to bow out it means that they are not perfectly straight, they arc out away from the rest of the game box. The grading of edges which bow out is done on a game by game basis and will be described in the condition of box section of the game description page.

  • Surface/edge junction - the point where the box top or box rear surface meets up with the box top or box rear edge.

  • Surface corner - the left and right upper and lower areas on the front or rear surfaces of the game box.

  • Repaired corner - indicates a corner was split or separated and has now been fixed. All of our corners are professionally repaired from the inside of the box to preserve the external appearance.

  • Fully repaired corner- the entire corner was separated and has been fixed.

  • Partially repaired corner- only a part of the corner was separated and has been fixed.

  • Concave - refers to the box top or box rear surface being curved inward. The grading of concavity is done on a game by game basis and will be described in the condition of box section of the game description page.

  • Inner box buildup - the cardboard platform which many games have that takes up most of the interior space of the box. This piece usually supports the game board and will often have print on it with game rules, descriptions, logos, etc...

  • Parts tray - the open top cardboard box inside of a game box where the game components are stored. Occasionally a game will include a plastic card or parts tray. When this is the case we will specify that it is plastic in the description.
